About this course:

On the potters wheel learn to throw functional mug and jug forms with a lovely weight, comfortable drinking rims and pouring lips. Finish them off with pulled handles and expressive slip decoration. Day 1 – Throwing – Students will watch demonstrations showing how to throw mug and jug shapes, and how to form a pouring lip, before making their own under the guidance of the tutor. Day 2 – Turning, Handling, Decorating – Practice pulling handles off the pot to create professional looking, functional pieces, before decorating with slip - trailed and hakame (brushed) decoration. 7 students max. Each student will have their own potters wheel to work on for the duration of the course. Each student will have 3kg of work to be fired included in the course cost, with any additional clay weight charged at £3/kg.
